The Hollow Ones

For centuries magic has been part of our world’s everyday life. But now, roughly a hundred odd years since the Industrial Revolution, few people remember those once magnificent days. Now the world is run by machines and industry and magic is slowly being removed from our way of life.

The Fea seem to have left our mundane world and the once numerous were-creatures have begun to hide behind human disguises. But there are some that still believe and practice. Chief among these is Lord Daniel Lionel, an English explorer known for delving into the deepest jungles and climbing to the highest peaks to uncover artifacts that are believed to hark back to the time of magic.

But now in his twilight years and with no heirs, it is believed that Lord Daniel is planning on auctioning off some of his prized possessions. The questions on everyone’s lips is “What will be seen?” and “Who will be there?”.

But alas, the invitations have only been handed to a select few, and we were not on the guest list. So, dear readers, we will just have to wait and see what the magical fallout shall be.

Details

The Hollow Ones is a slightly different larp to the ones the Cape Town larpers are used to. This larp will take place over an evening and morning, beginning on the night of Monday, August the 8th and ending round 11am on Tuesday morning. This does not mean that you won't get any sleep however. The larp has been setup to accommadate a period for sleeping. For all of you who work, don't worry, Tuesday is a public holiday. Please also note that this larp will require quite a bit of roleplaying and problem solving.

Also, the larp does not have a set number of characters. All players will be required to come up with a character concept and history, follow the guidlines set out in the files that can be downloaded from here and email these sheets to Ian Kitley roughly a week to two weeks before dragonfire. Unless you receive a negative reply or a request to make significant changes, you can be assurred that you will be playing that character and that you should put together a relevant costume.

The larp will be happening out in Somerset West, but briefings will be held at UCT before trekking out in convoy. Any further questions can be directed to Ian Kitley.
